Lost Archives

I was cleaning up my desktop when I found a folder full of pictures that I had resized for the blog, but never posted. It's almost like finding hidden treasure!!!!!!!!!! Here is my little sweetheart the first day back to the house after one month in the post-partum maternity center with mommy.
She was so small then, easily held with one hand. Here I'm able to snap pictures while holding her with one had, but it's almost impossible now with her being over 7.5kg (17 pounds) and all wiggly. I do think my arms have become buffer holding Ryder and Makayla the last 3 years though!
Ryder heading off for the first day of school by our house. Ryder was already going to day care when Momma Jax was in the maternity center but because she wasn't allowed out, she never got to see him off on that first day. So this time, Jax wasn't going to miss giving the little smurf a big hug as he set off for higher education.
The only problem was, the minute we got to the front door, the school director came out and snatched Ryder away. She says it's the best way to combat separation, don't linger outside saying all the good-byes. Jax was almost in shock when they took her baby boy away and she was left standing outside the door in tears.
Makayla's godmother Abbie came into town and we ventured out to the modern art museum. We spent a good deal of time riding around town eating, which is almost always the case when Abbie strolls into Taipei.
Me and Ryder playing defense while we watched the Lakers demolish everyone in the NBA playoffs. I watched every game with Ryder and he's going to grow up rooting for the Lakers and the UCLA Bruins, just like his daddy, HE HAS NO CHOICE!
This was just an awesome shot of Ryder playing with a brown bag. He's soo happy! I just wish I could be soooo happy playing with a bag! :)
Abbie's lil' sis, Daphne also came to visit and she accompanied us on all of our food excursions.
Little guy getting a bath from Auntie Abbie.
We asked this lady to take a picture of us and not one of them came out centered. We actually asked her to take 3 shots and this was the best one. How difficult is it to center the shot? All digital cameras have a screen so it can't be that difficult right?? It's like she was going to set the auto-shot function and jump into the space next to Daphne and be in our shot or something!
King Ryder!
We ate at Burger King before we went to the science museum and he wore the crown all afternoon. Here he's with mommy riding a bike with 4 square wheels!!!
Auntie Lily also blew into town and she finally met baby Makayla and Ryder. She came up to the house for dinner and was surprised that we had a house and a LAWN! She was shocked and thought she was back in Cali. Taipei's not all concrete jungle, all our friends are welcome to come and visit anytime.
Riding the vrooom vrooom when we went down south to the beach town of Kending.
I hosted a Brompton folding bike event a while back and Ryder tagged along. He would not get off the bike.
How cool is this little stud?!
We raced around the track at the event and he barely hung on. Ryder couldn't even reach the pedals or the top of the handlebar!
My biggest fan!
We went down to the Miramar shopping center many times when mommy was in the maternity center. It's just down the street and Ryder loved to go and hit the floating baseball. He got really good at it too. I think he has a chance to be the next Ichiro Suzuki.
He has a better chance of just being a big crybaby. They don't call it the terrible twos for nothing! Ryder cries a lot more lately when he doesn't get what he wants and tends to whine more than before. Hopefully, now that he's turned three, things will change a little. Not that miracles happen after your third birthday but we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Getting ready for a photo shoot.
Practicing the poses for the family shoot.
"Alright, hair is set and I look good. Let's go take some pictures."
Chip off the old block.
Ryder's friend Brandon had a birthday party and Mumuhug showed up. Ryder was so happy until he saw Mumu changing in the other room without his headgear on. He was soooo disappointed to find out that there was just a NORMAL person inside Mumu!! HAHA!

Ok that's all with the archive pics and I've just downloaded Ryder's birthday pics from this past weekend. Will post them very shortly. Really can't believe my little boy is 3 years old.
