Absolute last post from Hawaii!

Ok this is my absolute last post of our winter vacation in Hawaii which ended almost two months ago. Just a few pictures of our little excursion to the Big Island of Hawaii. I've been to Hawaii at least half a dozen times now but never left Oahu. So with grandparents ready, we handed Ryder off and went for a little 4 day vacation. We loved it. The scenery on the big island was spectacular and we went for the convertible rental car to really enjoy our ride.
We basically cruised around the island and just chilled. We started our trip by just driving up and down the Kona coast and let the wind blow through our hair. The weather was great and we came upon this little painted church which had nicely murals on the walls and ceilings. It wasn't exactly the Sistine Chapel but it was very quaint.

Took in some authentic Kona coffee and saw my future ride!

We also went snorkeling and swimming at some fantastic beaches. Kahaluu beach was really a love & hate relationship with us. Loved it cuz it was a very nice beach, decent snorkeling, AND there were giant sea turtles that just swam in the shallow water. You can literally touch the turtles as they swam by. HATED it because this is where our trip turned sour. Jackie lost her wedding ring here. Must've just fell off with all the sun tan lotion and snorkeling. We went looking for it all nite and the next morning but no luck. Somewhere in the world is a turtle with a very expensive ring in his stomach. Lucky it wasn't the engagement ring! If it was, we would NOT have left the island till we found it.Here's the magnificient sunset at the Four Seasons where we ate our last meal before heading back to Honolulu. It goes without saying that the Four Seasons is a spectacular hotel. If you ever go to the Big Island and have tons of cabbage to throw around, book a few nights at the Four Seasons and make sure you go to the Italian restaurant that's right on the beach where the following picture was taken. Then order the BEST OSSO BUCCO IN THE WORLD!!! Yes, I exaggerate not! This was the best I've ever had in my life and I 've had a lots of it as Osso Bucco is one of my favorite dishes. Better than at Hostaria Giggetto in the Jewish Ghetto of Rome, which use to occupy first place. Google and go there if you are ever in Rome. Make sure you also have the carciofo (artichoke). Back to the Four Seasons, the dish was exquisite as if made for the gods and the setting was jaw-dropping. Have dinner there with someone you love and you will have had a slice of of heaven. And here are the final two pictures from our Hawaii vacation. It's actually on the plane ride home. It was such a long flight back, more than 14 hours and we were running out of things to do on the plane. Luckily the plane was pretty empty so we had 7 seats, literally two rows to ourselves! It was great but Ryder was still restless until we put in Elmo and the Wiggles. I had totally forgotten that I had brought my laptop and lucky for me, I had two of Ryder's dvds in my bag. OH MY GOD were we lucky. He sat there and watched them QUIETLY until my battery ran out. It was so awesome. He didn't move, he just sat there with my headphones while me and mommy read or watched our own movie. First, thing when I get back to Taipei is buy a portable DVD player and burn a bunch of DVDs!!!Isn't he cute in these pictures? He's such a grown up little boy now don't you think? AND all you parents out there, take my advice, buy a small portable DVD player if you ever plan on taking your kid on a long flight. It will be better than sitting in Business class.
Aloha from Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys. Great pics. You scared us when you said wedding ring - almost thought you meant the big rock! Either way, that's sucky - so sorry! We bought a portable DVD player for a TWO HOUR plane ride - we totally get it. You guys should come out to LA - we're going to a Wiggles concert at the end of March! :) Take care!
